Ted Hiebert is a Canadian visual artist and theorist. His
large-scale photographic images explore transformations of identity and codes
of technological representation. Hiebert's work has been shown in public
galleries and artist-run centers in Canada and the USA, and in group
exhibitions internationally -- most recently at The New Gallery (Calgary,
Canada) and the Xi'an Academy of Fine Art (Xi'an, China). His curatorial and
collaborative works have been presented in such venues as Latitude 53
(Edmonton, Canada) the Richomond Art Gallery (Vancouver, Canada) and the Center
for Serious Play (University of Washington Bothell). Hiebert is a founding
member of the Noxious Sector Arts Collective and a member of the Editorial
Board for the journal CTheory. He is an Assistant Professor of
Interdisciplinary Arts at the University of Washington Bothell.
