The exchange between Shift and Candyland in Stockholm, Sweden continues. For the third part Malou Bergman and Nadja Ekman from Stockholm are exhibiting their own- and common work at Shift Gallery. They both work with photography and video, involving images of the female identity. Bergman and Ekman started to work together in the art collective Glimpse in 2003. Glimpse is a mobile digital photo studio equipped with a mixture of sculptural and inspiring costumes and props including a sound system with the purpose to inspire creativity. The aim of Glimpse is to create an interactive space for experiences where the camera functions as a catalyst and the visitor becomes an active part of the creative process. Glimpse has exhibited its work in museums and gallery spaces and participated in festivals in Sweden and abroad. Bergman and Ekman are founding members of the artist run galleries Candyland and Hammarby ArtPort in Stockholm. Candyland is an exhibition space, run by ten people who take turns in producing art exhibitions. Hammarby ArtPort is a terminal for “import and export” of artistic expression and a working space for art production and performance art projects. Bergman and Ekman are attending the opening of the Shift exhibition. They will be giving an artist talk on June 5th at 3:00 regarding their various common artist run projects.
