Fascinated with island life, Jo’s recent encaustic paintings have focused on exploration of rich oceanic and island life forms. The works are created by layering sumptuous coats of rich beeswax encaustic. Ethnic patterning produced by island peoples is an inspiration for the abstracted shapes which also appear in her work.
